On this episode, I talk about the ancient idea of hospitality. I walk through several ancient texts and stories and focus on the spirit of early Christianity.
The radical message—the original revolution—is that everyone gets a seat at the table. It is the “hospitality of God” that truly turns the tables on our human condition. The symbols of bread and cup don’t exclude but include and this family meal offers a safe place for a recovery process that includes grieving, reflection, and healing. At this table different stories and perspectives are respected and the brokenness from human rules and stereotypes deconstructed.
I end with the poem “this is your chair.”
